2009 Incidents

November 19 Structure Fire- 51 Barry Rd, Butler Twp, Schuylkill County on Box 4-2. T353 responded. Upon arrival found Schuylkill county units operating with a well involved garage attached to a residence via a breezeway. T353 supplied water to E4-10 and then became part of the tanker operation. Manpower reported to command and went to work performing overhaul and assisting with truck operations. Units remained on scene until being released by Butler Twp Command. Other ressponding units were E4-12, E4-10, E38-15, E46-10, E369(RIT), E352(East Cameron), E331, T4-32, T4-30, T46-30, T10-30, T353(East Cameron), T332, T22, Tk38-25, A38-01, A38-02 and Butler Twp PD.

November 13 Chimney Fire with Extension- 297 Middle Rd, Cleveland Twp on Box 270-03. T353 responded. Upon arrival T353 was advised to stage along the driveway in the event a tanker operation was needed as there was confirmed fire in the double plank walls next to the chimney with manpower going to work assisting with opening up. Manpower also accessed the roof to check the actual chimney itself. T353 remained on scene until being released by 270 Command. Other responding units were E273, E57, E174, T274, T52, T353, A50, 270QRS, Locust Twp Pd.  

November 12 MVA with Ejection and Fatality- SR42 3/4 of a Mile North of Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. T353 responded. Upon arrival found a violent 1 vehicle accident with a passenger car vs. tree. 1 occupant was found to have been ejected and was DOA. 2nd pt was ambulating about the scene and after a quick assessment aero-medical was requested. Pt was handed off to EMS and transported to the LZ at the baseball field in Aristes. T353 remained on scene assisting PSP and the Coroner's office as needed until the scene was secured and the vehicle removed. RT42 was closed for 6 hours to allow PSP to complete their investigation. Aristes Command placed the box in service and all units returned available without incident. Also responding were E331 (LZ Ops), E273, 270QRS, M12, A340, 270 Fire Police, 330 Fire Police, Conyngham Twp Pd, Locust Twp Pd, PSP Bloomsburg and the Columbia County Coroner's office.

November 10 MVA into the Water- East Lilly Rd @ the Lilly, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-04. T353 and S351 responded. Upon arrival at the initially dispatched location Rt42 and E. Lilly Rd nothing was found. CCCC advised the call came from OnStar for a vehicle rollover with airbag deployment. Using GPS from OnStar the vehicle was found to be in the Lilly and submerged. Dive teams were requested and upon their arrival the vehicle was finally contacted under 40 feet of water. No occupants were found in or around the vehicle. With darkness having been in place throughout the call and no patients found or immediate need for recovery of the vehicle, the operation was terminated. All units returned available without incident. October 29 Trick-or-Treat- Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. T353, E352, S351 and Fire Police responded. At the request of the Conyngham Twp PD and Twp Supervisors pesonnel staged throughout the town to help ensure the safety of those involved in the annual trick-or-treat night in Aristes. Fire Police placed flares to control traffic while other members gave tours of apparatus, talked about fire safety as well as membership to the adults. The fire house was opened as well with kids getting a good treat and drink.

October 24 Structure Fire- 2298 Fairgrounds Rd, Butler Twp, Schuylkill County on Box 4-02. T353 responded. Upon arrival as part of the 2nd alarm, found units operating with a 2.5 story wood frame singe family dwelling which was converted from a duplex. T353 split crews with the vehicle becoming part of the tanker shuttle supplying water. C350 was assigned the dump site operation. Manpower from T353 was assigned to fire attack. Manpower provided fire attack to Divisions 1 and 2 from side C and then overhaul for these areas. With tanker operations over, T353 remained on scene standing by in the event of another incident this the Lavelle section of Butler Twp. T353 was then released almost 5 hours after being dispatched and returned available. Also responding were E4-12, E4-10, E46-10, E369(RIT), E38-15, North'd E352, T4-32, T4-30, T46-30, T332, North'd T353, T13-35, T3-30, T3-35, T14-30, A38-01, A38-02, M11, S48-70, Unit 6, Butler Twp PD and PPL.

October 20 Vehicle Fire- Rt61 near Harmony Mine, Conyngham Twp, on Box 340-01. T353 responded. Upon reaching the area nothing was found. All units returned available per C340. Incident was in Atlas, Mt Carmel Twp, Northumberland County approximately 2 to 3 miles from this location with their units handling the incident. Also responding were E341, A340 and Conyngham Twp PD.

October 16 Tree Down- Aristes-Ringtown Rd 1 Mile East of Aristes, Conyngham Twp, on Box 350-03. S351 responded. Upon arrival in the area it was found that the tree had been removed. All units returned available. Also responding was PennDot.

October 15 Tree Down Blocking the Roadway- Aristes-Ringtown Rd 1.5 Miles East of Aristes, Conyngham Twp, on Box 350-03. S351 responded. Upon arrival found a moderate sized tree blocking the Westbound lane. Tree was cut with the chain saw and all units returned available with snow still falling.

October 15 MVA- Rt 42 top of Mystic Mountain, Locust Twp on box 270-01. S351 was enroute to the previous tree down call when the incident was dispatched. Knowing this area is the boundry between our coverage area and Station 270 and already being on the road, S351 proceeded toward the incident. Locust Twp PD arrived and cancelled all units with no injuries or need for fire. Also responding were E273, M61 and 270 QRS.

October Tree Down Blocking the Roadway- Aristes-Ringtown Rd 1 Mile East of Aristes, Conyngham Twp, on Box 350-03. S351 responded. PennDot had tree removed prior to arrival of S351. All units returned available with snow continuing to fall. Also responding was Conyngham Twp PD.

October 6 Search and Rescue Assignment- 800 Aristes Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. T353 responded. CCCC had recieved a call about a hunter lost in the woods in this area. After approximately 90 minutes of searching this area as well as the area around the Lilly the hunter was found in the area near the Shenandoah Water Company #6 Dam. All units were placed available then as per Aristes Rd Command. Also responding were E331, B333, E30-10, R30-50, A340, M11, M6404, Mule 944, PSP and CCRTF was standing by at Station 50.

October 5 Structure Fire- 513 Main St, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. T353 responded. CCCC advised of a stove fire in the residence. Upon arrival T353 laid 175" 5" supply line to the address with nothing showing. The homeowner advised the fire was believed to now be extinguished. Upon investigation the fire was confirmed to be extinguished. All responding units were recalled except for T353 which remained on scene until supply line was packed. Aristes Command then placed the box back in service with all units available. Also responding were E331, T332, E341, A340 and Conyngham Twp PD.

October 3 MVA w/ Injury and Fire- Snake Rd between the spring and the county line, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle on its roof off the roadway with the occupant self-extricated and fire in the engine compartment. 1 handline was deployed and the fire was rapidly extinguished. The driver was transported to GMC. T353 remained on scene until being released by C340. Also responding were E341, R5, S5, M93, Mt Carmel Twp PD and Conyngham Twp PD.

September 27 Trailer Fire x 2- UAE Harmony Mine, SR61, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found units from Northumberland County o/s with bulk of fire knocked down in 2 trailers. 1 was a storage trailer (origin) and 2nd was an office trailer. T353 staged and then provided water for final extinguishment. Manpower assisted with overhaul and the investigation. Also responding were E341, E331, E21, E22, E25, E2, E23, T332, R5, S5, Tk2, A10, A340, Conyngham Twp PD, Mt Carmel PD, Mt Carmel Twp PD, DEP, MSHA, Conyngham Twp EMA and PSP Fire Marshal.

August 21 EMS Assist- 700 Main St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp. S351 responded. Crews were performing cleanup of some equipment from the fire the night before, when they heard EMS going to the above location for a fall victim. With no response from BLS and ALS being mutual aid, the squad went to check it out. 1 patient was transported to GMC ALS by M6404.

August 20 Structure Fire- 49 Andrew Lane, Roaring Creek Twp on box 270-02. T353 responded. Upon arrival found units with a working fire in the attic of a larger new house. T353 was advised to stage to provide water for the tanker operation and manpower to report to command. T353 staged and remained there throughout. Manpower reported to Command and were then advised to go to Division 2 and find access to Division 3. T353 crew found the access to Division 3 and upon entering found the fire was mostly knocked down. Handline was advanced to Division 3 to extinguish remaining fire. Attic was overhauled and crew went for rehab. T353 was then released by Command to transfer to Station 270 until their apparatus cleared. T353 remained at 270 until their units returned available. Other responding units were E273, E272, E57, T274, T52, T242, T162, T212, Tk42, Air 33, A50, 270 QRS and Locust Twp PD.

August 15 Transfer Assignment- 36 W. Main St, Ringtown Borough on Ringtown South Box. T353 responded. Transferred to Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue Station while their units operated at a working residential structure fire in East Union Twp. Units remained standing by until the Ringtown apparatus returned available. Units responding to the structure fire were E9-10, E30-10, E582, E9-14, Sq9-20, Tw107, L244 (RIT), T9-30, T30-35, T585, T587, T9-34, T106, Hazle Twp Command, A980, A971 and East Union Twp PD.

July 17 Unattended Campfire- North of the former railroad bed off of 8th St, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival PD advised they had discovered an underage party. While planning to approach the large group the group had vacated the area leaving their campfire burning. PD requested fire to extinguish the remaining fire. The area had limited access and personnel reached the area via POV's. After overhauling the 6'x6' burn ring a PW and Indian tank were emptied to extinguish the fire. All units were returned to service by Aristes Command. Also responding were A340, Conyngham Twp PD and Locust Twp Pd.

July 10 Transfer Assignment- 1235 Numidia Drive, Locust Twp on box 270-01. T353 responded. Units transferred to Valley Chemical Fire Company Station 270 while their units operated at a well involved barn fire in Franklin Twp. Units remained standing by until being released by C270 when his apparatus became available. Responding to the barn fire were E273, E272, E55, E211, E174, T274, T52, T212, T176, T231, T162, T192, T295, T296, T66, A50, A62, R177, Air 33, B173, B164, B193, B105, B65, B95, B15, B236, B237, Locust Twp Pd, DCNR and E24 transferred to Sta. 50.

June 8 Possible Gas Leak- 216 State Route 61, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded. CCCC advised that a caller stated there was a large white cloud extending over the roadway with an odor of natural gas in the area of Savitsky Coal Company that possibly the natural gas main in the area had ruptured. C340 arrived and advised that there was a white cloud but no odor. After invstigation it was found that the cloud was actually dust from the coal company drilling in the area. All units returned available w/out incident. Also responding was E341.

May 20 Transfer Assignment- 1235 Numidia Drive, Locust Twp on Box 270-01. T353 and S351 responded. Units transferred to Valley Chemical Fire Company Station 270 while their units were operating at a working commercial structure fire in Catawissa Borough. Units remained standing by until being released when 270 apparatus became available. Responding to the structure fire were E57, E55, S51, E272, E273, E211, E161, E63, T52, T274, T242, T231, T203, T184, T192, T224, T66, T46, Tk42, R181, R37, A50, Catawissa Borough Pd, Locust Twp Pd and PSP Fire Marshall.

May 13 Possible MVA- SR42 @ the top of Mystic Mountain, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. T353 responded. During response Charlie 270 arrived o/s and advised vehicle was disabled w/ no damage or people around. Box was placed in service by Capt. 352. Also responding were E273, E341, M12 and Locust Twp PD.

May 8 Vehicle Fire- Big Mine Run Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found a well involved passenger car. T353 crew went to work opening the hood and supplying E341 with water. Fire was extinguished and overhaul completed. T353 remained on scene until being released by 340 Command. Also responding were E341, A340 and Conyngham Twp PD.

May 7 MVA w/ Confinement- SR42 Just South of Poor House Rd, Brush Valley, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. T353 and S351 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle on its roof with a pole down and the occupant confined to the passenger compartment. T353 and S351 crews went to work stabilizing the vehicle w/ Brush Valley Command being established. With the vehicle stabilized, the drivers door was opened and the pt was able to be removed. Fluids were controlled as well with a line deployed for suppression if needed. Aero-medical was requested for stand-by status. Pt was handed off to EMS and was taken to GMC ALS. T353 and S351 remained o/s until the vehicle was removed and scene was secured. Command was then terminated with the box being placed in service. Also responding were E273, E272, M12 and PSP with E341 being cancelled for the possible LZ operation.

May 6 MVA w/ No Injury- Snake Rd 500 yards of off Rt 61, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded. During response C340 arrived and advised of no injury and all units except E341 to recall. T353 returned available. Also responding and being cancelled were R5, A340 and M12, PSP handled the investigation.

May 3 MVA w/ Injury- 513 Main St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. T353 and S351 responded. Upon arrival found 1 full size pick-up truck into a parked pick-up truck and 2 SUV's with one of them into a utility pole. Negative entrapment was found upon arrival with one patient requiring aero-medical. A line was pulled due to the large amount of gasoline one of the SUV's. Hazards were controlled. E331 was diverted for LZ operations at the Aristes baseball field. 2nd occupant was taken to GMC for evaluation with the driver going into police custody. Units remained on scene until all vehicle were removed and scene was secured. Also responding were E331, Life Flight 5, A340, M12, R5, Conyngham Twp PD.

April 28 Wildfire- Mid Valley Rd between Wilburton #1 and Wilburton #2, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival E352 staged to fill brush units as needed and manpower was sent to assist with fire attack as well as overhaul. Approximately 3/4 of an acre burned along with other debris including tires. E352 remained o/s until being released by 330 Command. Also responding were B333, T332, B275 and M11.

April 26 MVA w/ Injury- SR 42 Brush Valley, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. T353 responded. Upon arrival found 2 vehicles off the roadway with one minor injury. Pt was assessed and upon arrival of EMS pt care was transferred. T353 remained o/s until being released by Brush Valley Command. Also responding were E331, E273, 270 QRS, M10 and PSP.

April 25  Search Assignment- 2450 Old Reading Road, Roaring Creek Twp on Box 270-02 and Aristes Rd in Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. S351 and manpower responded. Units reconvened for the search party that was postponed from the day before. Personnel were again assigned areas to search in the same area as before along with some new areas off of the Aristes Rd in Conyngham Twp. All units were placed available by command as night fall was again approaching and the individual not being found. Also responding were B275, R37, 270 QRS and manpower from 270, 50, Bloomsburg, CCRTF, Locust Twp PD and DCNR

April 24 Search Assignment- 2450 Old Reading Road, Roaring Creek Twp on Box 270-02. S351 and manpower responded. Upon arrival units were assigned an area to search. Units searched the area between Old Reading Rd and SR 42 in the Weiser State Game Lands. With darkness setting in and nothing being found the search for the missing individual was called off. All units were returned to service available. Also responding were B275, R37 270 QRS and manpower from 270, 50, Bloomsburg, CCRTF along with Locust Twp PD, Catawissa PD, PSP and DCNR.

April 20 Pole Fire- Main St and Center St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found an active pole fire. Area was secured while the pole was allowed to burn. PPL was requested to the scene. Units remained o/s until PPL arrived and they fixed the pole. All units returned to service available by 350 Command. Also responding was A340.

April 19 Wildfire- East of Big Mine Run Road, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival found a DCNR Victor 35 o/s with a wildfire extending up the bank toward heavier timber. E352 was advised to leave the paved road and proceed as far as possible and stage to fill the off road units. E352's manpower was sent to assist with extinguishment while the engine set up to fill other vehicles. Fire was extinguished with approximately 2 acres burned and all units returned available as per 340 Command and DCNR. Also responding were E341, E331, T332, B333, A340 and DCNR, Victor 35 and Spotter plane, Conyngham Twp PD.

April 16 Wildfire- Southeast of the Byrnesville Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 and T353 responded. Upon arrival both units staged on the roadway as the area was not accessible with full-sized apparatus. POV's from members along with B333 accessed the scene. Two seperate firs were extinguished quickly in the same area. 340 Command placed all units available with DCNR handling the overhaul. Also responding were E341, A340, B333 and DCNR.

April 6 Pole Fire- Apple Alley and Railroad St, Centralia Borough on Box 340-01. E352 was recalled by C340 o/s just prior to going responding. He advised the transformer had exploded and no fire now. PPL was requested. Crews stayed at Station 350 due to the power outage in Aristes from the incident.

March 31 Odor Investigation- 233 2nd St, Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. T353 was advised to hold in quarters by E331 o/s. T353 remained staged in quarters until being released by 330 Command advising nothing found. T353 went available. Also responding were E331 and Conyngham Twp Pd.

March 23 Garage Fire- 625 S Center St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-04. T353 responded. Upon arrival found a fully involved garage impinging directly on the woods surrounding it on 3 sides. E341 had been at their station when a passer-by advised them of a smoke condition in the area. E341 responded thinking it was a controlled burn. Upon arrival C340 confirmed a fully involved garage fire and requested 350 and 330. T353 arrived and laid 300' 5" supply line from the hydrant at Lilly Rd and S. Center St. 2 1.75" crosslays were then deployed by T353 crew. Fire was extinguished with overhaul completed including the use of a back hoe. Also responding were E341, E331, T332, A340, A11, Conyngham Twp PD and Conyngham Twp Fire Marshall.

March 22 Wildfire- West end of Railroad St, Centralia Borough on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Just after responding E352 was advised to recall as per C340 o/s advising small fire that was contained. E352 returned available. Also responding were E341, B333, T332 and A340.

March 12 Transfer Assignment- 1223 Numidia Drive, Station 270, Locust Twp. T353 responded. After being released from the previous incident, T353 was directed to go to Sta. 270 and stand-by there until they were able to get apparatus clear from the scene to cover the remainder of the 3 townships they are responsible for.

March 12 Structure Fire- 1933 Old Reading Rd, Roaring Creek Forest Preserve, Lot 6, Roaring Creek Twp, on Box 270-06. E352 and T353 responded. During response the fire was visible from over 3 miles away and was well involved. Upon arrival due to the limited access and poor road conditions E352 was requested to the top of the Preserve to provide water for the bruch trucks, which were the only fire apparatus able to access the residence. E352 crew assisted with fire attack and overhaul while E352 provided water. T353 staged at the entrance to the Preserve. E352 remained o/s until being released by 270 Command. T353 was released after staging for about 45 minutes. Also responding were E271, E272, E57, T274, T52, A50, B276, B54, 270 QRS and Locust Twp PD.

March 2 Fire Police- Rt42 and Aristes Rd, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. Fire Police responded. While operating at the previous incident Conyngham Twp PD asked Aristes Command if Fire Police could assist with traffic control around several stuck vehicles on Aristes Rd, not related to the vehicle fire. Fire Police assisted with traffic control until all of the vehicles were cleared and PennDot was able to make the roadway more passable.

March 2 Vehicle Fire- Rt 42 and Aristes Rd, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found a passenger car that had been on fire. The fire had been extinguished by the owner, who threw snow in the engine compartment extinguishing the flames. Vehicle was checked for extension and with nothing found Aristes Command placed all units in service. Also responding were Conyngham Twp PD, A340(recalled)

March 2 Fire Police to Assist PD- Byrnesville Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. S351 responded along with Fire Police. Fire Police had been requested to assist with multiple stuck vehicles from the snowy conditions covering the area. During response S351 was recalled by C340. Also responding were 340 Fire Police and Conyngham Twp PD.

February 27 Unknown Type Fire- 210 SR61, Blashack Coal Corporation, Conyngham Twp on box 340-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found a burn barrell on fire with 10 foot flames and area of approximately 10 feet around the barrell on fire as well. Fire was extinguished and all units returned with barrell being knocked over and emptied. T353 remained until being released by 340 Command. Also responding were E341, A340 and Conyngham Twp EMA.

February 19 MVA no injury- SR3006 between Wilburton #1 and Wilburton #2, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found 1 passenger car on its roof with the lone occupant having self-extricated stating she was not injured. EMS arrived and obtained refusal. T353 set up traffic control around the scene and remained on scene until being released by 330 Command. Also responding were E331, R5, M11 and PSP.

February 18 MVA no injury- Big Mine Run Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found 1 SUV over a small embankment into a tree. The occupants were able to self-extricate and were not injured. Both of the pt's refused EMS care. T353 remained onscene until PSP and towing company arrived and vehicle was removed. Also responding were E341, M11(Cx'd), R5(Cx'd) and PSP

February 12 Structure Fire- 240 Germanville Rd, Butler Twp, Schuylkill County on Box 4-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival T353 was placed in staging with manpower reporting to the front of the building. T353 manpower was then put to work performing overhaul operations. T353 remained on scene until being released by C4-01(Butler Twp Command). Units on the box were E4-10, E4-12, E369 E38-10, E46-10, E43-15, E45-10, E451(RIT), T4-32, Tk38-25, Tk43-20, R993(RIT) and A38-01.

February 9 Structure Fire- 325 Mulberry St, Atlas, Mount Carmel Twp, Northumberland County on Box 21-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival T353 assisted units on the scene as part of the tanker shuttle operation. T353's manpower provided assistance with fire extinguishment and overhaul. T353 remained on scene until being released by Mount Carmel Twp Command. Units on the box were E21(Atlas), E22, E24, E25, E2, E331, E221, E21(Shamokin), Tk2, Tk34, R5, R62(RIT), S5, S25, T22, T332, T353, M10, A12, M93, E111(transfer), Tk38-25(transfer), Tk542(transfer), E369(RIT stand-by), Mount Carmel Twp Pd, Mount Carmel PD, Northumberland County EMA, MHSA and DEP.

February 3 MVA with Injury- SR42 between Windmill Road and Centralia Borough, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-04. T353 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle upright after rolling over and striking the guide rail blocking both Nortbound lanes. Pt was self-extricated talking with PD. Vehicle was secured and leaking fluids were controlled. Pt was intially assessed by T353 staff and then care transferred to EMS upon their arrival. Units remained on scene until vehicle was removed and PD finished their investigation. Also responding were E331, A340, M10, and Conyngham Twp PD. R5 was responding but was recalled with no entrapment.

January 25 Transfer Assignment- 46 W. Main St, Ringtown, Schuylkill County. T353 responded. Units from Northern Schuylkill County were working a structure fire in the village of Sheppton in East Union Twp. T353 was requested to transfer to the RVFR station and stand-by there. T353 remained until RVFR units returned to service. Other units on the box were E9-10, E30-10, E9-14, T9-30, T585, T587, T30-35, T9-34, T106, Qt581, Sq745, Sq9-20, R101, S9-70, A980, A64-01, PSP Fire Marshall and East Union Twp PD were all on scene.

January 14 Structure Fire- 237 Germanville Rd, Butler Twp, Schuylkill County. T353 responded. Upon arrival found units on scene working a well involved structure fire. T353 staged for potential tanker operation with manpower reporting to the scene. T353 was then requested to the scene to assist with operations there. Reaching the scene T353 was directed to stage there to potentially perform engine duties. Manpower continued to assist with fire attack and then overhaul. T353 remained on scene until being released by Command. January 12 Structure Fire- 2114 Center St, Ashland Borough, Schuylkill County. T353 responded. Upon arrival found well involved building fire with multiple units working the scene. T353 sent its manpower to assist with fire attack while the vehicle became part of the tanker operation. Units remained on scene until being released by Ashland Command. Other units responding were E38-15, E38-10, E38-11, E45-10, E367, E369, E4-12, E46-10, E331, Tk38-12, Tk2, R38-50, T4-30, T4-32, T46-30, T268, T30-35, T759, T353 and T354 (Northumberland), T22, A38-01, A38-02, A45-02, Ashland PD and PSP Fire Marshall.  

January 9 Structure Fire with Entrapment- 440 Main St, Wilburton #2, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-02. T353 and S351 responded. T353 as the first arriving stopped and laid in from a hydrant approximately 150' from the address. Upon arrival confirmed a working fire with light smoke from the B/C corner, Division 1 of a 2.5 story wood frame duplex. T353 crew went to work after secruring the water supply stretching 1.75" line to the door on the C side. From there T353 and R5 crews gained access finding smoke almost to the floor. After being in only a few feet a victim was found and removed. Handline was again advanced this time finding high heat and zero visibility and line was backed out until horizontal ventilation could be obtained. 2nd line was then stretched from T353 to the porch on side A where entry was made finding high heat and zero visibility followed by rollover. Fire was quickly knocked down by these 2 lines and 1 from E331 from side C exterior as well. 3rd line was pulled from T353 as a back up on Side A. Initial pt was treated by ALS and BLS o/s and then taken to an LZ where the victim was unfortunately pronounced. 2nd victim (expired) was also found inside the residence during the fire attack from Side C. Fire was held primarily to the 3 rooms on Division 1 with heat, smoke and water damage to Division 2. Roof had been opened as well along with access to the exposure on Side D. Bulk of the fire was knocked down within 20 minutes or so with extensive overhaul to Division 1 and some to Division 2. T353 remained on scene for just over 8 hours providing lighting for the PSP Fire Marshall Investigation. All units worked well together with aggressive initial search and suppression as well as over the next 8 hours. Also responding on the Box were E331, E341, E21, R5, M11, A12, E2, E3, E30-10, E4-10, E273, T332, T30-35, T274, T4-30, T4-32, T4-12, T176, R62 RIT, Life Flight 5, A340, Conyngham Twp PD, Mount Carmel Twp PD, PSP, PSP Fire Marshall, Red Cross, Columbia County Coroner's Office, PennDOT and Conyngham Twp Road Crew.

January 7 MVA with Entrapment- SR42 Brush Valley, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. T353 responded along with S351. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle(SUV) on the passenger side over a small embankment with the lone occupant entrapped. T353 went to work stabilizing the vehicle. With the vehicle stabilized the pt could be assessed by EMS that had now arrived. T353 and E273 worked together to gain accesss to the pt and then performed the extrication. A charged handline was deployed and manned. The A,B,C and D posts on the driver's side were cut and the roof rolled down utilizing T353 combi-tool and sawz-all and E273 cutter and sawz-all. The pt was then removed to EMS and then transported to the regional trauma facility by ground, due to the poor weather conditions. Also responding were E341, 330 Fire Police, 270 Fire Police, M11, A12, Locust Twp Pd, PSP Bloomsburg

2008 Incidents

December 29 Odor Investigation- 314 Main St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. T353 responded. While cleaning up from the previous MVA recieved a phone call to the station reporting an odor of Kerosene and possible unattended Kerosene heaters. Upon arrival found an odor of Kerosene outside the residence. Access was gained to the residence with no kerosene problems found but some other code related issues were noted. All units returned to available.

December 29 MVA with Entrapment- SR42 just South of Lilly Rd, Conyngham Twp on box 350-04. T353 responded. Upon arrival T353 found 1 SUV on the driver's side with occupant entrapped in driver seat area. T353 was positioned to protect the scene and vehicle was stabilized using cribbing. ALS arrived and initiated pt care. Battery was accessed and disconnected. Extrication was begun using T353 combi-tool and Sawz-all as well as some hand tools. Windshield was removed. A and B posts were cut and then roof was cut in from C post to C post. Roof was laid down and Driver's side A post was cut. Pt was then moved to LBB and removed to litter and then MICU. Pt was then taken to awaiting aero-medical. T353 and E341 remained on scene until vehicle was removed and PSP was finished with their investigation. With vehicle clear, roadway was re-opened and all units returned available without incident. Also responding were E341(scene control), R5(assisted with extrication and packaging), M11(primary EMS), A12(assisted M11), S5(manpower), PSP(investigation), E331(LZ Ops), Medevac 7(rapid transport to Trauma Center).

December 27 MVA- Aristes Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. T353 responded. SCCC had dispatched Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue for an MVA unknown on injury. Upon them responding they requested Sta. 350 due to the location being reported as near the county line. T353 arrived to find 1 vehicle off the roadway into the trees with minor damage. The vehicle had been in its location since 0100 in the AM and was not removed. All units with the exception of T353 were placed available. T353 remained to assist with traffic control as the towing company had arrived. After the vehicle was removed T353 went available. Also responding were C14 with E3010, R3050 and A944 being recalled.

December 26 MVA- Big Mine Run Road, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded. During response C340 arrived on scene and advised there were negative injuries minor MVA and hazardous road conditions. All responding units were recalled. T353 returned to service available. Also responding E341 and PSP with R5, A340, M11 all being recalled prior to arrival.

December 20 House Fire- 36 E Main St, Ringtown on the Ringtown South Box. T353 responded. During response all units were placed available by Ringtown Command with no fire found only an electrical short in the Christmas lights. Also on the box were E3010, E3011, E3012, E9-10, T30-35, T9-30, T759, Sq745, R3050, R993 and A6401.

December 18 Vehicle Fire in a Garage Fire- 313 3rd St, Wilburton #1 on Box 330-01. All units were advised to hold in quarters as per C14 on scene with the exception of E331. T353 was crewed and was then placed in service by C330. Also dispatched on the box were Station 330 and 340 along with E21, E2, R5, T22, E3010, E3011 and Station 1 BLS and C14.

December 13 Stand-By- 500 Columbia Ave, Conyngham Twp. Station was manned with crews for all 3 vehicles due to the County 911 system experiencing problems with communications. Crews remained in the firehouse for 4.5 hours until being released by the County 911 system with the problems being rectified. All personnel then cleared the station. Almost all of the County Fire/EMS stations were crewed for this event.

December 12 MVA- Big Mine Run Road, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded finding snow and ice covered highways. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle into a pole with top of pole broke off and occupant sitting in vehicle with no entrapment and minor injury. T353 assisted with scene control as well as traffic and remained on scene until vehicle was removed and units placed available by 340 Command. Also responding were E341, M12, R5(recalled) and PSP.

December 7 MVA- Rt42 and Rt 61, Centralia Borough on Box 340-01. Dispatched for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries. T353 was recalled just after the second dispatch with a full crew by C340 on scene with no injuries. Also cancelled were R5, A340 and M12. E341 was on scene briefly to clear som debris and then returned.

November 21 MVA No Injuries- Big Mine Run Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle off the roadway into a ditch. Vehicle occupants were self-extricated prior to FD arrival. Pt's refuesed EMS. T353 remained on scene until released by Centralia Command. Also responding were E341, A340, M11, A12, R5, S5 and PSP.

November 21 Structure Fire- 297 Pine Swamp Rd, Union Twp, Schuylkill County on the Ringtown North Box. T353 responded. Upon arrival found fire to be under control by initial companies using 1- 1.75" handline and an extinguisher applied by the homeowner. T353 manpower assisted with overhaul. T353 returned to service available after being released by Union Twp Command. 1 pt was transported from the scene by ALS and 1 firefighter was treated on-scene by BLS. Also responding were E3010, T3035, E9-10, L581, T585, T587, R993, A944 and M6403.

November 21 Fire Police- Rt42 North of Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02 and 270-01. S351 and fire police responded. Highway was closed due to multiple stranded and disabled vehicles from the snow storm. Roadway remained closed until PennDOT got the roadways plowed and treated. All units then went available. Also responding were 270 Fire Police.

November 20 MVA- Rt61, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded with E352 manned in quarters. Caller gave uncertain location to CCCC. Units checked Rt61, Big Mine Run Rd, Snake Rd and Rt54 through Locust Dale to the county line. With nothing found all units were placed available. Units responding were E341, A340, R5 and M11.

November 15 Door Fire- Snake Rd., Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded. During response C340 arrived and cancelled all responding units except for E341. All units returned available. Also responding were E341, B333 and A340.

November 12 Vehicle Fire- Big Mine Run Rd. 1/2 mile of Centralia, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle with fire in the engine compartment. E341 was o/s with a 1.5" line in service making fire attack. T353 assisted with fire attack and then opening up the vehicle. This included the hood, doors and trunk. After gaining access to the trunk found the battery cables and upholstery burning. So remember always check all of the areas of the vehicle. Fire was extinguished and units remained on scene until PSP and towing company arrived with vehicle then being removed. All units returned available without incident. Also responding were E341, A340 and PSP.

November 9 CO Activation- 448 W. Main St, Wilburton #2, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-02. T353 responded. Upon arrival assisted by providing CO Monitor to check the residence for CO levels due to their home CO monitor going into alarm. After residence was checked all units returned to service available with all units returning as per 330 Command. Also responding was E331.

October 29 MVA with Injury- Rt42 1 Mile North of Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. T353 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle off the roadway and into some small trees. The lone occupant was self-exticated with minor injuries. Driver was transported to ED. T353 remained o/s until PSP arrival and vehicle was removed by towing company. 350 Command placed the box in service with all units returning. Also responding were E331, R5 and M12.

September 25 Wildfire- West End of Park St, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded and was advised to stand by in station. With a new operator present E352 proceeded in the direction of the call non-emergent as driver training. E352 was then released from the incident by 340 Command. Also responding were E341 and B333.

September 15 MVA with Injury- Aristes-Ringtown Rd 3/4 mile from County Line, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. T353 responded. Upon arrival found 1 SUV right side up after rolling over 1 time with the front end on top of the small embankment and the rear on the berm. The lone occupant was self-extricated and was in the care of Lt5. T353 parked to protect the scene. All other fire units were cancelled with EMS continuing. T353 remained on scene until the vehicle was removed. Also responding were M12, A6401 and PSP with E331 and R3050 being recalled prior to arrival.

September 11 Garage Fire- 1 Amy St, Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. T353 responded and arrived shortly after E331 who had obtained their own water supply from a hydrant. T353 was advised to come to the scene off of 2nd St. Initially T353 was advised to lay-in from a hydrant on 2nd St, but this was changed to just come to the scene with no need to lay-in. Arriving on scene found a 3 bay garage with brown smoke showing from the roof area and E331 having a 1.75" line in place hitting the fire. T353's crew went to work entering the attic space checking for extension and then performing overhaul of the area. T353 remained until being released by 330 Command. Also responding were E331, E341, R5, E21, M10, E273 and T274.

September 5 MVA- Big Mine Run Rd 1/2 mile from Centralia, Conyngham Twp, on Box 340-01. T353 responded and was immediately recalled by C340 o/s. T353 returned available. Responding on the incident from Schuylkill County as they also dispatched their box were E4-10, A3801, A3802 and M64. Also dispatched were E341, A340 and R5 with all being recalled by C340.

August 27 Fuel Spill- Rt 42 Southbound from just South of the bridge in Brush Valley to Lilly Road in Conyngham Twp on Box 350-04. S351 responded at the request of Capt352 due to a tractor trailer leaking deisel fuel. Upon arrival found that the fuel cap on one of the saddle tanks had not been secured properly and allowed fuel to leak from the freshly filled tanks. Floor dry was placed at Lilly Road and Rt 42 and the remainder of the area was checked. PennDOT and PD felt there was no road hazard from the spill and the water company concurred there was no hazard. With the spill contained units returned to service as per 350 Command. Also responding were Car 14, Car 20, PennDOT and Aqua American Water.

August 27 Wild Fire- Northwest of Wilburton #1 in the area of the coal mining operation, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. S351 was advised to stand-by in station and was then recalled by 330 Command. S351 returned to service available. Also responding were B333 and T332.

August 2 Structure Fire- Rt54 in the area of the old PIT, Mount Carmel Twp on Box 24-01. T353(new) responded. Upon arrival T353 finished an LDH lay w/ 300' 5", split the crew with 1 crew to the C/D corner for fire attack and the 2nd crew to open the roof and the operator got T353 into the tanker shuttle. Crew remained deployed until being released by Mount Carmel Twp Command. Also responding were E24, E25, E22, E21, E23, E221, E71. R5, T176, T196, T195, T332, S25, U28, U6, M10, A232, Rehab 5-4 and Mount Carmel Twp Pd.

July 28 MVA- Byrnesville Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353(new) responded. Approaching the scene 340 Command advised T353 of 1 minor injury, no entrapment, minor fluids down and to close the roadway. T353 diverted traffic away from the roadway. T353 remained o/s until being released by 340 Command. Also responding were E341, A340, M10, R5 and Car 14 as well as PSP.

July 20 Medical Assist- 99 Leiby St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. S351 was released from the stand-by and was requested to respond for an unknown medical problem. During response all responding were recalled by the caller. S351 went available and returned to station and remained crewed there until E352 and T353 went available from the previous incident.

July 20 Structure Fire- 89 Kennedy Rd, Cleveland Twp on Box 270-03. T353(new), E352 and S351 responded. T353 acted as a relay engine for the water supply operation between the dump site and fire scene with manpower assisting with fire attack and overhaul operations. E352 established a 2nd fill site for the tanker shuttle operation. S351 provided manpower. Units remained committed to the scene until being released by 270 Command at which time all were requested to stand-by @ Station 270. Units remained there until released by Command. Also responding were E271, E272, E273, E55, E57, E174,E161, E3010(transfer to 350), E24(transfer to 50), T274, T52, T242. T176, T195, T196, T162, T332, B275, B54, B333, B216, B164, B193, B3045, A50, A62, DCNR, Locust Twp PD, PSP Fire Marshall.

July 15 Transfer Assignment- 46 W Main St, Ringtown (Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue Station). T353(new) and S351 responded with E352 being crewed in our station. Apparatus requested to transfer due to RVFR apparatus being committed to a working structure fire in Sheppton. Units remained in RVFR station and at our station until being released by C30-01.

July 3 Wildfire- Near the Cemataries at the old St Ignatius Church, Centralia Borough on Box 340-01. T353(new) responded. Upon arrival found a very small area of brush burning. 340 Command placed the box in service and returned all units available. T353 returned available without incident. Also responding were E341, B333 and A340.

July 2 Shed Fire- 289 Reservoir Rd, Union Twp on the Ringtown South box. T353(new) responded and was advised of possible entrapment. During response T353 was advised to stage at Hetherington's Pond on Reservoir Rd for a possible fill site. Just as T353 was arriving at that location all units were recalled by C30 advising fire was out. T353 returned available w/out incident. Also responding were E30-10, E30-11, E30-12, E9-10, T30-35, T9-30, TS745, T759, R993 amd A944.  

June 20 MVA w/ Injury- Aristes Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. S351 responded. During response CCCC advised that SCCC had originally recieved the call and had their units dispatched. After looking and finding nothing units from Columbia were requested. The incident was found by District 30 to be somewhere near Zions Grove in Union Twp. S351 returned available. Also responding were E331, E3010, R3050, M64, A971 and C14.

June 10 MVA w/ Injury- Rt61 just West of PennDot Shed, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353(new) responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle on its roof in a swampy grass area with occupant self extricated. Pt was transported ALS to SACH. T353 remained o/s until PSP arrived. Also responding were E341, R5 and M10.

June 9 Forcible Entry- 314 Main St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on box 350-01. T353(new) responded. Upon arrival found BLS o/s advising there was Medical Panic Alarm from the residence and they were not able to obtain access. Entry was obtained to find the pt in no need of EMS. Units returned available. Also responding was A340.

June 4 MVA w/ Injury- RT42 1/4 mile South of Bridge Brush Valley, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. T353(new) responded. After initially being dispatched and responding to Rt42 between Aristes and Centralia on the 350-04 box, units split up to search for the incident. It was then found to be 1 vehicle into a tree with 1 injured some 3 miles from the original reported location. Pt was out of vehicle with no entrapment. Pt was x-ported to TBH. Also responding were E331, M92, R5 and M92.

May 27 MVA w/ Injuries- Rt42 just below Power Dam, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-04. T353(new) responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle on its roof with all occupants out of the vehicle with fluids down. T353 crew split-up with command established, assisting EMS with patient care and controlling traffic. 2 patients were transported 1 to GMC and 1 to SACH. T353 remained on scene until released by Aristes Command. Also responding were E331, A340, R5, M12 and PSP.

May 25 MVA w/ Injuries- Rt42 and Rt61, Centralia Borough on Box 340-01. T353(new) responded. Upon arrival found 3 vehicle MVA with multiple injuries and fluids down. T353 assessed vehicles to find negative entrapment. Vehicles were stabilized w/ wheel chocks. Fluids were controlled as well as traffic. Manpower assisted EMS with pt care with 3 patients transported. T353 remained on scene until vehicles were removed and unit was released by 340 Command. Also responding were E341, R5, S5, A340, M12, M90 x 2, M6401, A3801 and PSP

May 23 Smoke in a Structure- 419 W Main St, Ringtown Borough on the Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue South Box. T353(new) responded. During response, T353 was recalled by C30-01. T353 returned available. Also responding were E3010, E3011, E3012, E9-10, TS745, T3035, T759, R993 and A944

May 6 CO Detector Activation- 204 2nd St, Wilburton #1- Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. T353(new) responded. Upon arrival found home to locked except for 1 door with CCCC advising the call came from an alarm company. There was a moderate sized dog inside the residence as well. A keyholder was to be enroute with 20 minute ETA. C14 was requested to the scene to secure the animal if needed. Family friends arrived and secured the dog. Once crews were able to enter the residence elevated CO levels were found in the 2 living floors as well as the basement area. A coal and oil furnace were shut down and the home was ventilated. Homeowner arrived and was advised to not utilize either heat source until a certified technician checked both. T353 returned to available without incident after being released by 330 Command. Also responding were E341, B333, M12, R5 and Car 14(Conyngham Twp Pd).

April 26 Tire Fire- South End of the Closed Section of Route 61- Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 (old) responded. Upon arrival fire had been extinuished by E341. T353 went available as per 340 Command. Also responding were B333 and A340.

April 24 WildFire- Behind former St Ignatious Church near the tipple- Conyngham Twp of Box 340-01. T353(old) responded. Upon arrival found several acres well involved and directed to the Western Flank per command. 1 handline and the booster reel stretched with a lot fire knocked down from first tank of water. 2nd tank of water continued the attack and then overhaul of the areas accessible from dirt roadway. T353 remained o/s until being released by 340 Command. Over 5 acres were damaged by the fire. Also responding were E341 and DCNR Victor Units and 1 drop from the plane.

April 19 MVA w/ Injury- Wilburton Mountain Rd- Mount Carmel Twp on Box 21-02. E352 responded. After being released from the prior incident E352 returned to station and was manned there. NCCC dispatched the MVA and was initially reported with entrapment. With Atlas and Wilburton crews still at the wildfire E352 began toward the MVA. Upon arrival found 1 pt removed from the vehicle by EMS. E352 established traffic control and remained o/s until being released by Mount Carmel Twp. Command. Also responding were E20, U28, M12 and Mt Carmel Twp PD.

April 19 Wildfire endangering Structures- in the area of 100 Malone's Rd- Butler Twp on Box 4-1. T353 and E352 responded. During response units were advised they were needed to establish exposure protection for a large wildfire. Upon arrival E352 and T353 staged at 86 and 78 Turnpike Rd respectively. Assessing the area around the residences there. E352 was then released by Butler Twp Command and returned. T353 remained o/s for several more hours until being released by Butler Twp Command. Also responding were apparatus and personnel from: Butler Twp (Fountain Springs, Lavelle and Englewood), Ashland (Washington), Gordon, Frackville, Gilberton (American), Shenandoah (Polish American and Defender), Mahanoy City (Good American), Ryan Twp, Cass Twp (Heckshersville), Shenandoah Heights, Wilburton, Centralia, Atlas, Mt Carmel (Clover), Locust Gap, Ashland EMS and DCNR including multiple drops from the planes. Over 100 acres is believed to have been consumed.

April 19 Fence Fire endangering structure- 333 Main St- Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. T353(new), T353(old) and E352 responded. Upon arrival found that the homeowner was burning debris in his burner and lit the 8' privacy fence on fire. Fire was extinguished by homeowner prior to arrival utlizing a garden hose and 2 extinguishers. Also responding were E331, T332, E341, R5, T176, T22, E273, T274 A340, and T9-30.

April 19 Wildfire- North of Rt 61 near Blashak Coal Company- Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353(old) responded. Upon arrival found 1.5 acres involved. Fire was knocked down utilizing 1 handline and the booster reel quickly. Units rapidly cleared to respond to next incident. Also responding was E341.

April 19 Wildfire- Breisch Rd and Farmers Rd- Union Twp on Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue North Box. T353 (new and old) responded. During response C30-01 advised to respond reduced rate. T353 (new) was advised to stage at Melanie Manor. T353(old) was redirected to District 30 Station 2. Units were then released by C30 and returned available. Also respoding were E3012, T3035, B3045, B584, B9-40, B883, B887 A944 and DCNR.

April 17 Smoke Investigation possible Wildfire- Snake Rd near Cell Tower, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival nothing was found and all units returned after checking the area. Also responding were B333 and E3.

April 15 Smoke/Odor Investigation- Rt 42 just North of Centralia above Power Dam, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. T353 responded. During response to the prior incident Capt. 352 found a smoke/odor condition consistent with a wildfire in this area. Once units cleared the previous call they were directed to this incident. After searching no source for the condition could be located and all units returned per 350 Command. Also responding were E341 and A340.

April 15 Unknown Type Fire- the old Tipple Rd behind the former location of the St. Ignatius Church, Conyngham Twp on box 340-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival T353 was advised to stage on Rt 61 as manpower from Sta. 340 was checking the area. Portable 340 found a tire on fire. Sta. 340 manpower extinguished the fire and all units were placed available by 340 Command. Also responding was E341 and A340.

April 11 Debris on the Roadway- Rt61 between Centralia and Mount Carmel, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. S351 responded with a crew in quarters for T353. While preparing for the spaghetti dinner to be held on April 12, we were contacted at the station by telephone advising of large amount of debris on the roadway in this area causing hazardous conditions. S351 responded non-emergent to check the area. Upon arrival found that at least 2 vehicles had suffered tire failures from the rocks that had been placed all over the roadway. Debris was removed and units cleared. PSP and Mt Carmel Twp PD also responded along with 2 towing companies to remove the vehicles.

April 5 Wildfire- Northwest of Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. E352 and S351 responded. During response both were advised to stage at Sta. 330 as per 330 Command. E352 and S351 were recalled by 330 Command advising of a small fire that they would extinguish. Also responding were B333 and B275.

April 2 Wildfire- 218 2nd St Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. E352 was recalled prior to responding by 330 Command. Also responding were B333 with B275, R5, A11 being recalled prior to responding also.

March 29 AFA- 202 Greco Lane, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. E352 (same as prior incident) responded with T353 in quarters with a driver responded. Units arrived to that homeowner had a small fire in his oven that self-extinguished but put a small amount of smoke into his residence activating the alarm. No fire department assistance was required but house was checked with nothing found. 330 Command placed box in service. Also responding was T332 with E341, E21 and R5 recalled prior to arrival.

March 29 MVA with Injury- SR42 @ 6th St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. E352 (actually the new T353 acting as E352 due to E352 O.O.S. for maintenance and old T353 in service) responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle over a small embankment and into a 12' x 12' block shed (maintenance shed for cemetary) with occupant self extricated. Despite damage building was stable and fluids were controlled. Pt was transported to GMC ALS by M12. E352 remained until removed by towing company and all items removed from shed for cemetary association. Also responding were E331, A340, PSP and R5 recalled prior to arrival.

March 26 Medical Assist- 437 Columbia Ave, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. Manpower responded. While doing work at the station preparing for our upcoming fundraiser we were summoned by family members to assist with a fall victim. Assisted with getting the pt upright and he refused any further assistance.

March 21 Structure Fire- 177 Ridge Rd- Cleveland Twp on Box 270-03. T353 responded with E352 remaining with an operator in station. Upon arrival found 270 and 240 units on scene with a fully involved garage impinging on a house. The garage was approximately 30'x60' and 60' from the house. The garage was a state certified inspection station that also did work on buses and body work. T353 was assigned to water supply from a porta-pond to E273. The concrete structure was completely destroyed with a defensive attack being initiated. 2 backhoes were used to tear down the remaining walls due to collapse potential during overhaul. Destroyed in the fire in addition to the building was 1 car, 1 fork lift, 1 backhoe with a 2nd receieving moderate damage, 2 vehicle lifts along with miscelaneous tools and parts. T353 remained o/s until being released by 270 Command. Also responding were E271, E272, E273, E57, T274, T52, T242, A63, M61, 270 QRS, Locust Twp Pd and PPL.

March 17 Pole Fire- SR3006 between Wilburton #1 and Wilburton #2- Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found that an insulator on a pole had come loose and the wire was incontact with the cross member on the pole. The cross member was smoking and a PPL crew happened to be driving by on their way home for the day. They stopped and made the needed repairs. T353 remained o/s until being released by 330 Command. Also responding were E331 and PPL.

March 1 MVA W/ Injury- SR42 and the Aristes Rd- Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. T353 and S351 responded. Upon arrival found 2 vehicles almost head-on with all occupants out of the vehicles. Fluids were controlled and traffic control established. Pt care of the female operator of the one vehicle was initiated. M12 arrived and obtained 2 refusals and transported the female to SACH for evaluation. Also responding were PSP and E3011(cx'd prior to arrival).

February 29 MVA- Aristes Rd- Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. E352 responded. Arriving in the area it was found there was a non-injury MVA vehicle off the roadway that was removed with the assistance of a bystander prior to the arrival of units. Vehicle was driven from the scene and all units returned to SVC avail per 350 Command. Also responding were E331, E3010, E3011, A944 and M12.

February 24 MVA- Big Mine Run Rd.- Butler Twp, Schuylkill County- Units were originally dispatched to the Big Mine Run Rd on Conyngham Twp for an MVA with injuries and possible entrapment. E352 and S351 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle into a Verizon pole and on its side with all occupants out of the vehicle with the incident actually being inside Butler Twp. CCCC was advised to notify Butler Twp PD and Fire of incident. Refusals were obtained by EMS. Upon arrival of C4-01 command was transferred and all CCCC units were placed available. Also responding were E341, A340, M12, E4-10, Car 14 and Butler Twp PD with R5 being recalled just prior to arrival.

February 22 MVA- SR61 Near the Penn Dot Shed West of Centralia- Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 and S351 responded. All units were cancelled shortly after responding by C340 on scene advising no injuries and no need for fire department. Also dispatched were E341 and A340.

February 10 MVA- SR42 1 Mile North of Aristes- Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. E352 and S351 responded. During response found roadways to be snow covered and icy. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle that had struck the guide rail. No entrapment with all occuapants out of the vehicle. 1 pt was transported to SACH ALS. Units remained on scene controlling traffic until vehicle was removed. Also responding were A340, M12, R5 recalled and PSP.

February 9 MVA- Byrnesville Rd- Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 was dispatched for MVA with entrapment but was recalled along with all units other than BLS by C340 on Scene. Responding were A340, M12 and E341.

February 2 Structure Fire- West End of Atlas- Mount Carmel Twp, Northumberland County on Box 21-01. T353 was requested and was recalled after only 2nd dispatch with crew in station preparing to respond. Also responding were Atlas E21, E20, Mount Carmel E2,R5, BLS, and T332.

January 18 Commercial Structure Fire- 600 W Main St- Ringtown borough on the Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue South Box- T353 responded. Upon arrival T353 was advised to stage as part of a potential tanker shuttle operation and manpower was directed to the building. 20' x 20' concrete building housing the fire pump for the sprinkler system was found with moderate smoke/steam showing from all 4 sides. T353 crew assisted with gaining access and it was found that the fire pump had suffered a significant mechanical failure with antifreeze all over the interior of the building. Building was vented with a negative pressure fan and all units returned to service except for E3011 and T3035 as per District 30 Command. Also responding were E3010, E3011, E3012, E9-10, T3035, TS745, Tw456, and R993.

January 10 Fuel Spill- 323 Main St- Aristes- Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. E352 and S351 responded. Upon arrival found an odor of fuel oil from the storm drain. Further investigation found a significant amount of fuel oil in the storm drain that was running with water and fuel oil. Neighbors stated the odor was present from approx. 1500 hrs. 2 1/2 hours prior to our being requested. Further investigation found approx. 150 gallons of fuel had leaked from a basement tank of a residence. The fuel entered a floor drain and then the strom drain which led it to a wooded area off of 2nd St. The entire area was affected by the spilled fuel as were a total of 4 residences not including the source home. Spill was controlled and EMA contacted. Minuteman responded and performed all clean-up duties. Units returned to service after being released by the arrival of Minuteman. Also responding were E331, EM14 and Twp Supervisors.

2007 Incidents

December 31 Strucutre Fire- 1156 Numidia Drive- Locust Twp on Box 270-01. E352 and T353 responded. Upon arrival found units on scene with fire contained and controlled to a single bedroom on the 2nd floor. Bedroom was gutted and significant smoke and heat damage with little water damage to the 2nd floor and slight water damage to the first floor. Assisted with overhaul and checking for hot spots. Despite 4 inches of snow on the roads residence was saved and all units returned. Also responding were E271, E272, E273, E57, E55, T274, T52, A50, Car 20 and PSP Fire Marshall.

December 16 Medical Assist- 2 West Lilly Rd- Conyngham Twp on Box 350-04. Manpower responded. Upon arrival assisted M11 and S5 with moving a patient to the MICU through the snow covered yard area. Patient was then transported to TBH. 

December 7 Medical Assist- 2 West Lilly Rd- Conyngham Twp on Box 350-04. Manpower responded. Upon arrival assisted A340 with getting a patient to their feet after a fall. Patient refused treatment and all returned available.

December 6 Forcible Entry- 2 West Lilly Rd- Conyngham Twp  on Box 350-04. An officer was requested to assist Home Health with gaining access to a residence. C350 responded and handled incident.

December 5 MVA with Injury- SR61 West of the PennDot Shed- Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle with mild to moderate front end damage. 1 patient was transported to SCMC via M12. Also responding were E341, R5, S5 and PSP.

December 1 MVA with Injury- Aristes Rd 1 Mile East of Aristes- Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. E352 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle on its roof blocking 1 lane of traffic. Pt was self-extricated and ambulating about the scene. He was transported to SCMC via A340 BLS. E352 remained on scene until PSP and towing service arrived and vehicle removed. Also responding were E3010, E331(staged at Aristes Rd and SR42), M12(recalled), Ringtown Pd and PSP.

November 29 MVA with Injury- SR42 1/2 Mile North of Aristes- Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. E352 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle off the roadway into several trees and a ditch. Pt was self-extricated and ambulating about the scene. Pt was initially stabilized and then loaded into A340 and tranported to SACH BLS. Units remained on scene until PSP and towing service arrived and vehicle was removed. Also responding were E331, E273 (recalled), M11(recalled) and PSP.

November 27 Medical Assist- Brush Valley Game Lands- Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. Manpower responded to assist EMS with a pt with Chest Pain. Pt was located and loaded into M11 and transported to SACH. Also responding were E331, Car 20 and DCNR.

November 28 Structure Fire- 100 Block N Main St- Shenandoah. T353 and manpower responded. Upon arrival T353 assisted with water supply as a part of a tanker shuttle operation. Manpower assisted with fill site operations as well as fire attack. Units remained on scene until released by Shenandoah Command. There were 56 total units operating on this incident including but limited to those from Shenandoah, Frackville, West Mahanoy Twp, Ringtown Valley Fire/Rescue, East Union Twp, Butler Twp, Mahanoy City, Ryan Twp, Hazle Twp, Harwood, Saint Clair, Pottsville, Ashland, Girardville, Gilberton, Landingville, Nuremberg, Wilburton and Sunbury.

November 18 MVA w/ injuries- SR42 1/4 mile North of Pogey Road on Box 350-02. E352 responded with T353 being held in quarters. While performing duties at our monthly breakfast Sta. 350 was dispatched for an MVA with injuries. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle on the passenger side with all occupants out of the vehicle. 2 pts were transported. 1 to TBH via A340 and 1 to GMC via M170. Units remained on scene until PSP and towing service arrived and vehicle was removed. Box was then placed available by 350 Command.

November 16 NEW TRUCK ARRIVES- The new Tanker 353 arrived at the station.

November 11 Structure Fire- Palachicks General Store- Locust Twp on Box 270-01. E352 and T353 responded. Upon responding both were advised to hold in quarters as per 270 Command. Units were then released with the fire having been extinguished. Also responding were E271, E273, E272, T274 and Car 20, E57, T52, T242 and A50 were held in quarters also on the Box.

October 15 Smoke in a Structure- 1022 W Center St- Ashland. T353 responded. T353 was recalled by Ashland Command prior to arrival. Also responding were E3815, E3810, L3825, R3850, A3801, A3802, T4-30, T46-30, T4-32, E45-10, E45-11, M64, Life Flight 5, Ashland PD and PSP.

October 7 Rescue Assignment- Off Rt 61 near the PennDot Shed- Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Prior to leaving the station C340 advised to have personnel respond POV for a 4x4 pick-up truck if extraction needed. E352 went available and manpower responded POV as directed. Pt was found and removed. He was then transported to GMC by A340 and M11. Also responding were E341 and R5.

October 1 Vehicle Fire- In Woods behind former st Ignatious Church- Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded. Upon arrival found 2 pick-up trucks well involved endangering the surrounding wooded area. Both vehicles were gutted by the fire. Investigation is continuing. T353 remained on scene until PSP arrived and the vehicles were removed to by the towing company. They were then released by 340 Command. Also responding were E341 and A340.

September 5 Debris Fire- Behind Methodist Church- Wilburton #1 on Box 330-01. E352 responded. E352 was recalled prior to arrival by 330 Command. Also responding were E331 and B333 and Sta 1 BLS.

August 8 Structure Fire- 700 W Main St- Ringtown Borough on the Ringtown Valley Fire/Rescue South Box. T353 Responded. T353 was recalled by C30 prior to arrival. Also responding were E3011, E3012, TS745, T585, T587, T332 and M6403

August 8 Structure Fire- Pattersonville Rd- Union Twp on the Ringtown Valley Fire/RescueSouth Box. T353 responded. Upon arrival District 30 had the fire controlled in a garage off the roadway along with the personell from District 9 Station 2. T353 was immediately redirected to the next incident. Also responding were E3010, E3011, E3012, E9-10, TS745, T3035, T9-30, T585 and A944.

July 29 Medical Assist- 535 Columbia Ave- Aristes on Box 350-01. While performing duties around the station a bystander stopped and advised personnel there was an individual down in their yard at the above location. 350 manpower responded and EMS arrived shortly after. Pt was treated and then removed and transported to GMC by A340 with ALS being requested by A340. All units cleared and returned.  

July 27 Tree Down- Rt42 and Rt61- Centralia Borough on Box 340-01. While returing from the MCVESA parade E352 found a moderate sized tree down partially blocking the South bound lanes of Big Mine Run Rd. Tree was removed and all units cleared.

July 20 MVA with unknown injuries- Rt42 and R61- Centralia Borough on Box 340-01. E352 responded. During response E352 was recalled by 340 Command. Also responding were R5 cancelled along with E341 and M12.

July 4 Rescue Asssignment- Closed Section of Rt 61- Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival E352 staged at the North end of the closed section of hughway. POV's were utilized to access the area and remove the pt who was then transported to GMC by A340 and M11. Units were then placed in service by 340 Command. Also responding was E341 and PSP.

June 24 Investigation of Smoke Outside- Main St- Wilburton #2 on Box 330-02. E352 responded but was cancelled by 330 Command prior to leaving the station. Also responding were E331.

June 21 MVA w/ Injury- Aristes Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. E352 responded. Units were dispatched for an MVA w/ fluids down. Upon arrival found a passenger car on it roof w/ fluids coming from the engine compartment and EMS having the pt packaged and enroute to the hospital (dispatched and then upon arrival requested FD). Fluids were controlled as was traffic as a lane of traffic was blocked. Remained o/s until Aristes Rd Command placed all units avail. Also responding were A340, M12 and PSP.

June 19 Rescue Assignment- Off of Big Mine Run Rd just East of Centralia, Conyngham Twp, on Box 340-01. E352 responded. As a severe thunderstorm was reaching the area units were dispatched to this area for a report of a male in a 30' pit unresponsive. Upon arrival found the male had gotten himself out of the pit and was refusing EMS. Due to an altered mental status he was not allowed to leave and was then transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Units returned to SVC after being released by 340 Command. Also responding were E341, R5, S5, M12 and E331 (recalled prior to arrival), as well as PSP.

June 8 Fire Police- Byrnesville Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. Fire Police responded and assisted PSP w/ traffic control of a truck tractor whose trailer came off and came to a rest in the roadway partially blocking a lane of travel. Units returned to SVC after the towing company re-set the trailer on the truck tractor. Also responding were Sta. 330 Fire Police

June 3 Tree Fire- Wilburton #1 Conyngham Twp, on Box 330-01. T353 was recalled prior to responding. Also responding were E331 and manpower from Sta. 350.

May 12 MVA w/ Entrapment- Rt42 and Rt 61, Centralia Borough on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival found 2 vehicles T-bone in the intersection w/ one entrapped. R5 arrived immediately after E352 and vehicle was stabilized and then drivers door removed. Pt was extricated and transported by ground to regional trauma center and other driver taken to local ER for evaluation along with a juvenile occupant of that vehicle. Also responding were E341, A340, M11 and PSP.

May 9 Structure Fire- 236 Resevior Rd, Union Twp Schuylkill County on the District 30 South Box. Prior to responding T353 was recalled by Union Twp Command but manpower responded to assist at the scene. Units arrived to find a house trailer well involved with fire from one end and through the roof in the middle. A pond located approximately 1100' away was used for water supply so no tankers were needed. Also responding were E3010, E3011, E3012, E9-10, Sq745, T3035, T585, T9-30, R993, S468, A944 and PSP Fire Marshal.

April 22 Wild Fire- Byrnesville, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. Prior to responding E352 was held in quarters per C340. After a short time all units were released. Also held in quarters were B333, A340 and E341.

April 16 Fire Police- Closing SR42 North and Aristes Rd, Conyngham Twp, on Box 350-01. S351 and Fire Police responded. Due to winter weather that blanket the higher elevations with up to 16" of snow roadways became inpassible due to snow and downed trees and power lines. Units operated until both roads were made passable. Station 350 was also opened as a shelter for those stranded with no where to go. Also responding were Sta. 270 Fire Police and Penn Dot.

April 12 Police Assist- SR42 between 1st St. Aristes and North St. Centralia, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-04. Units were requested to assist PSP with traffic control and have an Engine stand-by to assist with a Stand-off situation. E352, S351 and Fire Police responded. S351, E352 and Fire police kept SR42 closed for approximately 8 hours until the subject was taken into custody. E352 also had a stand-by crew in the event they were needed should a fire problem develop. All units returned to SVC per PSP w/out inc. Also responding were E331, 330 Fire Police, A340, several local police departments, PSP Bloomsburg and PSP SERT.

April 9 Structure Fire- Dale's Service Center, Numidia Dr, Locust Twp on Box 270-01. T353 was held in station per 270 Command prior to responding with Command advising nothing found. T353 returned to SVC avail. w/out inc. Also repsonding were E273 and Locust Twp PD.

March 31 Medical Assist - 24 1st St, Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. S351 responded. Upon arrival S351 found S5 on scene. The pt needing assistance had been assisted by the S5 crew and manpower from Sta. 330. S351 returned to SVC as the pt needed no medical attention.

March 13 Debris Fire - Just North of North St in Conyngham Twp just outside Centralia Borough on Box 350-04. E352 and T353 responded. Upon arrival found a pile of debris on fire. Pile was extinguished and overhauled. PD began investigation immediately due to being on scene. All units returned to SVC avail. w/out inc. Also responding were E331, A340 and C14.  

February 17 MVA -Rt42 and Rt61 in Centralia Borough on box 340-01.E352 responded. During response C340 recalled all units. E352 returned to SVC avail. w/out inc. Also responding were M11 prior to being cancelled.

February 17 Barn Fire- Scattered Acres Farm, Numidia Dr, Locust Twp on the Box 270-01. E352 and T353 responded. T353 assisted with the tanker shuttle operation. E352 established a fill site at the Numidia Community Park. Manpower assisted at the scene with extinguishment and overhaul. Units operated for over 4 hours with temperatures approaching 10 degrees. All units returned to SVC avail. w/out inc. Also responding were E272, E273, E51, E57, T274, T52, T242, T332, T176, T296, A50 and E331 was standing by at station 330.

February 12 Structure Fire- 185 W Main St, Ringtown on the Ringtown South Box. T353 was recalled only minutes after dispatch by Ringtown Command.

February 5 Stand-By- Station 270, Locust Twp. While on the previous incident and units were being released from the scene units were being dispatched for a smoke detector activation at 164 Quaker Meeting House Rd. E352 was advised to remain at Sta. 270 until other closer units arrived. E352 was then released with nothing found.

February 5 Structure Fire- 66 Poor House Rd, Locust Twp on Box 270-01. E352 responded and T353 was staffed in station. During response E352 was advised to stage at Sta 270. T353 was released after a few minutes and E352 remained at Sta 270 until being released by 270 Command. E352 returned to SVC avail w/out inc. Also responding were E273, E272, E57, T274 and T52.

February 3 MVA w/ injury- Rt42 approximately 1/4 mile south of Lilly Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-04. E352 responded. Upon arrival found a single vehicle accident with one moderate injury and vehicle still in roadway. E352 crew assisted EMS with packaging and loading pt and secured the scene. E352 remained o/s until PSP arrived and vehicle removed. Aristes Command placed the box in service. All units returned to qtrs available w/out inc. Also responding were R5, A340 and M12.

January 17 Wild Fire- Aristes Rd approximately 1.5 miles from Aristes on box 350-03. E352 responded. Upon arrival found approximately 12 small wildfires along the roadway. Most of the areas were extinguished by passers-by (many thanks). The remaining areas were extinguished. CCCC was advised to notify DCNR. Aristed Rd command placed the box in service. E352 returned to SVC avail. w/out inc. Also responding were B333 and T332 (staged).

2006 Incidents

2006

December     Wild Fire- Byrnesville section of Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 arrived to find a small pile of debris on fire in the wooded area. Fire was extinguished  w/out incident and all returned to SVC avail. Also responding was B333.

December 10 MVA w/ Injury and entrapment- Byrnesville Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. Station 350 manpower responded. Upon arrival found 2 vehicle MVA w/ 2 critical injuries with both entrapped. Both occupants were extricated and then flown to the regional trauma center. 340 Command placed all units in service. Also responding were E331, T332, R5, M12, M11, A3801, R3850, E3810 and PSP.

December     EMS Assist- Pennsylvania State Game Lands West of Rt42, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. S351 responded. Upon arrival found EMS o/s in the process of treating a pt who had been injured. Initially it was reported that the pt was over 2 miles off the roadway and approximately 1/2 way up the mountain. S351 was requested by EMS after their response. S351 returned to SVC avail w/ the pt transported to a local facility. Also responding were A340, M11 and B333

November     Structure Fire- 179 E. Main St, Ringtown borough. T353 responded. Upon arrival T353 was placed in staging and then released by command. Fire was contained by initial arriving companies. Great Stop... Also responding were E671, E672, E30-10, Sq9-20, Sq745, T30-35, T9-30, E451, Tw456, R993, A944 and PSP fire marshall.

November 21 MVA w/ Injury- Rt42 just South of the bridge in Brush Valley, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. E352 responded. Upon arrival found 2 vehicle MVA w/ 1 injury despite severe damage to both vehicles. Fluids were controlled and scene secured along w/ initial pt care until EMS arrival. Brush Valley Command returned all units w/out inc. Also responding were E331, E273, M12 and PSP.

November 16 Tree Down- Aristes Rd approx. 2 miles from Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. S351 responded. Upon arrival found a tree down in the roadway w/ PennDot removing the tree. S351 returned to SVC avail.

November 11 MVA w/ Fatality, injury and fire- Aristes Rd 3/4 of a mile from County line, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. E352 responded. Upon arrival found a  F150 fully involved in fire after a collision w/ several trees. E30-10 and E672 were o/s and extinguishing the vehicle. The 2 occupants had been ejected. 1 was DOA and the other was a class 1 trauma. Initial dispatch was by SCCC and then several minutes later, CCCC dispatched the Box. W/ Aristes Rd Command placing all units avail except E352 and E3010 who remained o/s until PSP and County Coroner had completed investigation and the deceased had been removed. Also responding were E331 (LZ Aristes Baseball field), A944, M6401 and M12, PSP, Columbia County Coroner's office and GCMTS A8 (transport of deceased).

October 31 Fire Police- Aristes, Conyngham Twp, on Box 350-01. Fire Police from Station 350 provided fire police to help protect the children in town during their Trick-or-Treating adventures. E352 and S351 were used as well. All personell returned to SVC avail.

October 31 EMS Asisst- 235 2nd St, Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. Station 350 manpower responded and M11 w/ removing the pt from the residence to the MICU. Also responding were manpower from Station 330. Pt was x-ported and all personell returned to SVC avail. w/out inc.

October 7 Wildfire- in the area of the Lilly at the East end of Lilly Rd, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. E352 and T353 responded. Upon arrival found a small trash fire that was almost completely burned out. Fire was extinguished and PD was advised. 350 Command returned all units to svc w/out inc. Also responding were B333, A340 and C14.

October 4 EMS Assist- 407 Main St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp. Station 350 manpower responded and assisted M12 w/ the removal of a male pt from the 2nd floor of the residence to the MICU. Pt was then x-ported and all Station 350 personell returned w/out inc.

October 1 MVA- Rt42 and Rt61, Centralia Borough on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival had 1 pt w/ minor injuries and - entrapment. E352 assisted w/ fluids down and traffic control. 340 Command placed the box in service. E352 returned to Svc avail. w/out inc. Also responding were E341, M12 R5(cx'd) and A340.

September 18 Structure Fire- Byrnesville Rd (Rt61 By-Pass) South of Centralia, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 and T353 responded. PD had found fire and confirmed it as a working fire w/ smoke showing. Upon arrival found a working fire in a 20'x40' single story garage w/ fire from the overhead door and roof. E352 stretched a 200' 1 3/4" smooth bore to the front of the building as well as laddered the building. 2 vehicles along w/ all contents and the roof were burning inside the concrete walled structure. Roof was opened up for access to debris in the storage area on top of rafters. Partial collapse of some rafters reduced access from the front due to unstable conditions. Tankers were utilized for water supply. E352 remained o/s for lighting and overhaul and T353 for water supply. E352 also assisted Twp Fire Marshall w/ investigation. 340 Command the placed all units avail. E352 and T353 returned to SVC avail. w/out inc. Also responding were E341, E331, E4-12, T4-32, T4-30, A340 and Car 14.

September 16 Vehicle Fire- SR0042 1/2 mile North of Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. E352 and S351 responded. Upon arrival units found a disabled vehicle that had suffered major transmission failure putting fluids on the ground and onto the exhaust system causing a brief fire. Fire was out prior to arrival of any units. Fluids were controlled w/ absorbent placed. E352 and S351 remained o/s until the arrival of PD and towing service. All units returned as box was placed in service by 350 Command. Also responding were E331, A340 and PSP.

August 31 Barn Fire- 123 Aristes Rd. Union Twp, Schuylkill Cty. E352 and T353 responded. Upon arrival found Schuylkill units o/s w/ a well involved barn fire. E352 assisted w/ fire attack while T353 assisted w/ water supply as part of the tanker shuttle operation. E352 was released approx. 4 hours into the inc. and returned w/ S351 returning manpower to the scene while E352 remained staffed @ station 350. T353 and S351 were released approx. 8 hours after the initial alarm. All units returned to SVC avail w/out inc. Also responding were E30-10, T30-35, E671, E672, Sq9-20, T9-30, T585, T587, T461, T332, E331, T4-30, T4-32, T25-35, T25-30, E751 transfer to Ringtown, Hazle Twp E103 in station, E272 to Sta. 350, A944, M6403, M6401

August 4 MVA w/ multiple injuries- Aristes Rd 1 1/2 mile East of Aristes, Conyngham Twp, on Box 350-03. E352 responded. Upon arrival found a SUV rolled over down an embankment w/ 5 injured. 3 walking wounded and 2 ejected w/ 1 being unresponsive. Aero-medical requested along w/ 2nd ALS and 2nd BLS. Handline for stand-by was placed. E352 provided initial pt care to several of the pt's. 3rd and 4th BLS requested as well. E352 remained o/s until vehicle was removed and PSP completed o/s investigation. Aristes Command placed box in service and all units returned w/out incident. Also responding were E331 (LZ operation Aristes Baseball Field), E672, M6403, M11, A944, A3801, A232, Union Twp. PD, Ringtown PD and PSP.

July 7 MVA- SR61 near the PennDot Shed, Conyngham Twp, on Box 340-01. E352 responded and was recalled by C340 prior to arrival as were all other responding units. Also responding were E341, M11 and R5.

July 2 Mutual Aid request- Main St., Bloomsburg, CCCC requested a portable pond to assist w/ non-potable water distribution at the County Courthouse due to no water in Bloomsburg. This request was cancelled prior to being completed as CCCC had found a closer pond that was available.

July 30 MVA w/ injury- Aristes Rd near the Columbia/Schuylkill Cty line, Conyngham Twp, on Box 350-03. Manpower from Sta. 350 responded w/ E352 being recalled prior to responding by C330A o/s. Also responding were E331, A340 and M11

June 28 Pump Detail- Comarnitski Lane, Locust Twp, a direct request was made to Sta. 350 for a portable pump to assist w/ a flooding condition. Manpower from Sta. 350 responded w/ the portable pump and water was removed. All returned after approx. 2 hours.

June 27 Stand-By- 500 Columbia Ave, Aristes, Conyngham Twp, As part of a county wide stand-by assignment due to the heavy rains and related emergencies throughout the county. Sta. 350 was manned until released by CCCC.

June 27 Pump Detail- 58 Leiby St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. Manpower from Sta. 350 responded w/ a sump pump and portable pump. Water was removed and residence secured. All returned to service within the hour.

June 22 Vehicle Fire- Rt42 North of Aristes near bridge in Brush Valley, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. E352 responded. Upon arrival found a pick-up truck that had overheated with steam from the engine compartment. E352 remained o/s breifly to ensure no fire and then returned to available as per C350. Also responding were E331 recalled prior to arrival and Locust Twp PD.  

June 5  EMS Assist- 430 Columbia Ave, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. Manpower responded for a "lift assist". Upon arrival found the pt in need of ALS transport to the ER. Manpower assisted until M12 arrived and pt was on her way to the ER.

May 13 Barn Fire- 2155 Hollow Rd, Locust Twp on Box 270-01. T353 responded. During response C270 arrived and advised there was light smoke showing. T353 was advised to stage at Sta. 270 and remained there until released by 270 Command. Also responding were E271, E272, E273, E57, T274, T52, T242.

May 10 Wild Fire- Snake Rd in the area of the top of the hill near the previous incident from the morning, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival found a small wild fire approx. 1/4 acre. Fire was extinguished and overhauled. E352 remained o/s until released by 340 Command. Also responding were E341, E331, B333 and A340.

May 10 MVA- Snake Rd in the area of the top of the hill, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded and was recalled during response by 340 Command. Also responding were E341, A340 and M11

April 29 Wild Fire- 8th and Center St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival units were met by a small rapidly spreading brush fire in an area around a burn barrel. Fire was extinguished and area was overhauled. E352 remained o/s until being released by Command. Also on the Box were B333, T332, A340 and DCNR units.

April 25 Electrical Fire inside Residence- 2nd St, Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. E352 was recalled by 330 Command prior to responding w/ a full crew. Also on the Box were E331, R5, Tk2 and M10.

April 20 Medical Assist- 329 Main St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp. S351 responded and assisted M64 with pt care until the arrival of A944 to handle transport. S351 returned when pt left the scene to ARMC.

April 19 Wild Fire- In the area of the old Wilburton Colliery, Wilburton #2, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-02. E352 responded. Upon arrival E352 assisted by filling Brush Trucks from varying companies as well as DCNR. E352 remained o/s until released by 330 Command. Also on the Box were units from Station 330, Atlas, DCNR and others.

April 10  Strucutre Fire- Mervine Residence Troutwine St, Centralia on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival found a moderate smoke condition in the 1st floor of the residence. Investigated to find a food on the stove burned. Food remains were removed and residence ventilated. E352 returned to SVC avail w/out inc after being released by 340 Command. Also on scene were E331 and A340. Mount Carmel E2 was recalled prior to arrival.

March 31 Unknown Type Fire- 707 S Center St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01. E352 responded and found the remains of a controlled burn from the previous day that was believed to have been out, was not watched and rekindled in the breeze. Fire was extinguished and entire area was wet down. Units remained o/s until released by 350 Command. Also responding was E331.

March 25  Stand-By in Station- 500 Columbia Ave, Aristes, Conyngham Twp. E352 requested to S/B in station as part of the 3rd alarm on Northumberland Box 21-01 for a working structure fire in Atlas. E352 remained on S/B until released by Atlas Command. Also on the Box were units from Atlas, Strong, Beaverdale, Locust Gap, Natalie, Mt Carmel, Kulpmont and Shamokin.

March 24  MVA w/ Injury- SR0042 just North of the Bridge in Brush Valley section, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-02. E352 and S351 responded. Upon arrival found 1 vehicle into a pole w/ severe damage. Pt was self extricated and ambulating about the scene. Care was initiated and then transferred upon EMS arrival. Units remained o/s until vehicle was removed and scene cleaned up. Brush Valley Command placed the box in service and all units returned. Also responding were E273, A340, M11, 270QRS and PSP.

March 23  EMS assist w/ lifting- 502 Main St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp. S351 responded to assist M11 w/ moving a pt. from 2nd floor downstairs and to litter.

March 22  Wild Fire Endangering a Structure- 9 First St, Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01 . E352 responded but was recalled prior to arrival by 330 Command. Other units responding E331, B333, E341, Atlas E20, Mt Carmel R5 and EMS.

February 26  Chimney Fire Stand-by- Upon returning from the previous wildfire, Sta. 270 was dispatched for a chimney fire on Kennedy Rd. in Cleveland Twp, on Box 270-03. Station 350 advised CCCC of a full crews for E352 and T353 if needed. Crews remained in station until 270 units cleared the box. Also responding were E271, E272, E273, T274 and A50.

February 26  Wild Fire-   to the rear of the Conyngham Twp building on 1st St in Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. E352 responded initially and was advsied to stage at the Twp. building along w/ T332. E352 manpower was sent via 4x4 POV's to the scene in a remote area w/ poor access along w/ B333. T353 was crewed in quarters per 330 Command. All units were released by 330 Command. Also responding was A340.

February 25  Barn Fire-  474 Hinkle Rd, Barry Twp, Schuylkill County. T353 responded but was recalled prior to arrival due to initial apparatus finding a pond near the fire building for water supply. Also responding were units from Lavelle, Gordon, Hegins and Hegins Twp w/ units from Fountain Springs, Mahanoy City and Wilburton also being recalled.

February 22  Working Structure Fire- 2 Maplewood Rd, Barry Twp, Schuylkill County. T353 and S351 responded. Upon arrival T353 assisted with water supply through the tanker shuttle and S351 provided manpower for the defensive operation. T353 and S351 remained o/s until being released by C4-03. Also responding were units from Lavelle, Gordon, Fountain Springs, Hegins Twp, East Cameron, T332 and E331.

February 13  Chimney Fire- 213 Greco Lane, Mount Carmel Estates, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival 330 Command advised fire was controlled and E352 to stage behind E331. E352 remained o/s until released by 330 Command. Also responding were E331, Atlas E20 and E21.

January 30    Vehicle Fire- 2 Front St., Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01. E352 and S351 responded. Upon arrival found a vehicle in the woods that had been extinguished by Sta. 330 crews. 330 Command placed the box in service. All returned to SVC avail. Also responding were E331 and T332.

January 22    Wild Fire- South side of Mid-Valley Highway, Wilburton #2, Conyngham Twp, on Box 330-02. E352 and T353 responded. Upon arrival 330 Command placed all units in service w/ an unattended controlled burn. Also responding were T332 and B333.

January 20     MVA w/ Injuries and Ejection- Rt61 near Whiteman's Dam, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded. Upon arrival found 1 pt lying in the passing lane, 1 pt lying in the driving lane, and 3 ambulating about the scene w/ 1 vehicle rolled over into the woods. E352 split crews w/ some personnel remaining o/s to assist EMS and remainder setting up LZ for Life Lion and Life Flight 3. 340 Command placed all units in svc. Also responding were E341, A340, M10, M90, A3801, R5 and Conyngham Twp PD.

January 20      Stand By in Station- 500 Columbia Ave, Aristes, Conyngham Twp 3rd alarm on Northumberland Box 21-01.E352 was crewed and remained on stand by for a working structure fire until being released by Atlas Command. Also responding were E21, E20, U28, E25, E22, E23, E1, E2, E21, E11, E331, E24, T332, Tk2, R5, S5, M10, A232, Tk34, Kulpmont RIT, Mt Carmel Twp PD.

January 12       MVA reported to be w/ injury and entrapment, Big Mine Run Rd just outside Centralia, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 responded but was recalled by 340 Command prior to arrival. Also responding were R5, M12 and PSP

January 7          Structure Fire- 300 Block or Girard St, Atlas, Northumberland Cty, 3rd alarm + and Tanker Task Force on Northumberland Box 21-01. E352, T353 and S351 responded. Arrived o/s to find working row home fire. S351 assisted w/ lighting and manpower, E352 assisted w/ water supply and manpower w/ T353 assisting w/ water supply. Remained o/s in these roles until being released by Atlas Command. Also responding were units from E21, E20, E25, E22, E23, E24, E2, E1, Shamokin E21, E11, E71, E331, Tk2, Tk34, R5, S5, R62, T274, T30-35, T4-12, T22, T296, T176, T353, T313, T4-30, T46-30, T14-30, T633 and there may have been others but not sure to the scene, E272 transfer to Sta. 350.

2005 Incidents

December 31, 2005  Smoke Investigation- 315 Main St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01, While operating the prior incident a large amount of black/brown smoke was seen coming from the chimney of the residence. E352 investigated and after contacting the property owner and having him open the residence found a malfunctioning oil burner w/ mild smoke condition in the basement.Oil burner was shut down w/ area ventilated and property owner advised to contact an expert to make repairs. Aristes Command placed all units avail. Also responding were ------.

December 31, 2005 MVA w/ - Injury- 300 blk of Main St, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01, E352 responded and upon arrival found a Pa DOT vehicle had struck a parked vehicle. No Injuries, No fluids. All units w/ exception of E352 recalled. E352 remained o/s to assist w/ traffic control. PSP arrived and scene was secured. Aristes Command placed box in service. Also responding were E331, R5 and M11.

December 17, 2005 Vehicle Fire- Aristes Rd. approximately 1.5 miles from Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03, E352 responded and upon arrived to find a Ford Ranger that had been well involved in fire but was now extinguished along with Union Twp E30-10, T30-35, Ringtown E671, Ringtown A944 o/s. They had been dispatched 20 minutes prior to our dispatch, arrived and extinguished the fire. E352 remained o/s until PSP arrived along w/ towing company and vehicle was removed. 350 Command then returned all units. Also responding were E331 (cx'd upon arrival) and A340 (cx'd prior to arrival) 

December 11, 2005  Unknown Type Fire- Byrnesville Rd./SR0054 South of Centralia Borough, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. E352 was held in station by C340. After standing-by in station for a short time E352 was recalled by C340. Also responding was E341.

December 9, 2005   Stand-by in Station- 500 Columbia Ave, Aristes, Conyngham Twp mutual aid to Union Twp, Pattersonville Fire for a Structure Fire on Trailer Rd, East Union Twp. Station 350 was crewed in quarters until being released by C3002. Units responding to the actual fire were: Sheppton-Oneida Fire, Brandonville Fire, Ringtown Fire, Union Twp Fire, Shenandoah Heights Fire, West End Fire and Rescue, Ringtown EMS and Citizens Fire. 

November 20, 2005 Wild Fire- Byrnesville Rd (SR0061) in Byrnesville, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01. T353 responded and upon arrival found a wild fire approx. 1/2 acre involved. T353 assisted w/ extinguishment and overhaul of the area. Returned to SVC after being released by C350 who was OIC. Also responding were B333, T332 and A340.

November 1, 2005  MVA w/ Injury- SR0042 just South of HillTop Auto Sales @ the old Ice Dam, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01, E352 responded and upon arrival found an SUV off the West berm and into the trees right next to the dam. 1 pt was treated and transported by EMS. E352 remained o/s securing the scene and controlling traffic until PSP and towing company arrived. After vehicle was removed 350 Command placed the Box available. Also responding were E331, M11, R5 and PSP.

October 16, 2005    MVA w/ Injury and Fluids Down- 1st St. and SR0042, Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01, E352 responded and upon arrival found 2 vehicles head-on in the roadway w/ fluids down. All occupants out of the vehicles. E352 controlled the fluids and initiated traffic control as well as assessing the 2 pts. EMS arrived and both pts refused transport. E352 remained o/s until being released by C350. Also responding were E331, A340, R5(cancelled prior to arrival) and PSP.

October 15, 2005     Tree Down in the Roadway- Aristes Rd. 1/2 mile East of Aristes, Conyngham Twp on Box 350-03. E352 responded and upon arrival found a moderate sized tree partially blocking the West Bound lane. E352 utilized the chain saw and the tree was removed. E352 remained o/s until being released by 350 Command.

October 11, 2005     Stand-By in Station- 500 Columbia Ave., Aristes, Conyngham Twp mutual aid to Union Twp., Pattersonville Fire for Stand-By in station for a structure fire on Pheenyville Rd., East Union Twp. Station 350 was crewed in quarters until being released by C3002. Responding on the actual incident were Sheppton Fire, Brandonville Fire, Ringtown Fire, Pattersonville Fire, West End Fire and Rescue, Citizen's Fire, Shenandoah Heights Fire, Nuremberg Fire, Shenandoah ALS, Nuremberg BLS. Not sure if anyone else.

October 5, 2005        MVA w/ Fatality- SR61 1/2 mile West of Centralia, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01, E352 responded and upon arrival  found one vehicle on its roof after going through a utlity pole. The lone occupant had been ejected and was pronounced by M11. E352 assisted with lighting and traffic control until being released by 340 Command. Also responding were E341, A340, M11 and R5.                  

September 25, 2005  Wild Fire- Behind 1st St, Wilburton #1, Conyngham Twp on Box 330-01, T353 responded and staged until a small fire was located by B333. T353 returned to as per 330 Command. Also responding were E331, B333 and A11.

September 14, 2005  Wild Fire- Byrnesville Rd just west of Byrnesville, Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01, T353 responded and upon arrival found a small wild fire approximately 1/5 of an acre. T353 assisted w/ extinguishment and returned to SVC. E341 and A340 also responded.

August 24, 2005        Tree Fire- Across from 518 Main St., Aristes on Box 350-01, E331 and 350 manpower responded to find a very small fire in the side of a tree where the homeowner was trying to remove a bees nest.

August 14, 2005        Wild Fire- Rt. 61 in Centralia Borough on Box 340-01, E352 responded but was cancelled by C340 o/s with nothing found. Also responding  E341 and A340

August 7, 2005          Debris/Trash Fire- Snake Rd in Conyngham Twp on Box 340-01, E352 responded but was cancelled by E341 advising fire out. A340 also responded.

August 3, 2005          MVA- Mid-Valley Rd (SR3006) in Conyngham Twp on Box 350-01, E352 responded and upon arrival found 1 vehicle off the roadway into the woods, moderate damage, 1 pt and no fluids. Pt to M11 and refused. Also responding E331, R5, S5 and PSP.

July 27, 2005             Strucuture Fire- Shenandoah Rd near Murray Meadows in Union Twp., Schuylkill County, T353 responded to assist with tanker shuttle at working structure fire. Arrived to find fully involved residence and provided water dumping 3 times into pond. Also responding: Union Twp- E30-10, T30-35, Ringtown- E671, 672, A944, Sheppton-Onieda- E9-10, T9-30, S9-70, Brandonville- T9-34, Nuremberg-Weston- T585, T587, Mahanoy City- R993, E451, TW456, T461, S48-70, Ryan Twp- T26-30.
